Yesterday, Meizu released its new flagship smartphone Meizu MX6. After the presentation representatives of Chinese company said that MX series becomes a large field for experimentation. Meizu MX6 became the starting point for experiments in the field of camera.
Meizu MX6: Design and body materials
New smartphone has metal body with a front panel with 2.5D effect. The rear panel has plastic antenna.
The design Meizu MX6 looks similar and recognizable. The sales of smartphones will be available in four colors: silver, gold and pink with white and dark gray front panel.
Controls
The control buttons Meizu MX6 do not differ from the previous models Meizu Pro 5/6. Power and volume buttons are located at the right side, while tray for two SIM-cards is on the left. USB Type-C, microphone, speaker grill and a 3.5 mm mini-jack are at the bottom.
The smartphone is equipped with a fingerprint reader (mTouch 2.1) that is equipped in mechanical key, which also performs the role of “Back” button.
Meizu MX6: Screen
Meizu MX6 uses a screen with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Display has maximum viewing angles, a good supply of brightness and color reproduction close to natural. The screen is covered with 2.5D glass and oleophobic coating.
Performance and memory
The smartphone Meizu MX6 is equipped with one of the most powerful processor by Mediatek – Helio X20. The device uses a graphics chip Mali-T880 and 4 GB of RAM.
Built-in memory is 32 GB memory. It does not have a slot for MicroSD cards.
Camera
As I wrote at the beginning of the article, Meizu MX6 is the first step of Chinese company to improve the quality of photos. New smartphone uses 12 megapixel sensor Sony IMX 386. Other camera settings include 6 lenses, aperture f/2.0, pixel size of 1.25 microns, phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash.
The front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels, aperture f/2.0 and 4 lenses.
Interfaces
The smartphone Meizu MX6 is equipped with the usual range of interfaces: dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, LTE (frequency FDD-LTE Band 1,3,7). Also mobile device supports VoLTE and LTE Cat 6, but not NFC.
Battery
Battery capacity is 3060 mAh. According to statements of Meizu, the working time of new smartphone is comparable to Meizu Pro 5, which was, I recall, one of the best devices from Meizu line on the part of battery life.
Meizu MX6 works with fast charging technology mCharge on MediaTek Pump Express database. For 10 minutes the smartphone is charged at 25 per cent, 30 minutes – to 65 percent.
Software
The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a proprietary interface Flyme 5.2.
Conclusion
We have mixed feelings from the presentation of Meizu MX6. If you follow the Chinese phone market, then new smartphone from Meizu is not something unique. Xiaomi, LeEco and Huawei produce more interesting devices in this regard. The camera of smartphone Meizu MX6 may be the only feature that is able to interest buyers.
